Men of Melchizedek currently accepts requests for financial assistance only from validly ordained Catholic priests who are citizens of the United States of America, living in the USA, and ordained for or incardinated in a USA Diocese, including USA priests living and working abroad in the Archdiocese of Military Services or at the Holy See.
Section 1. Types of Financial Assistance
Men of Melchizedek, Inc. (“MOM”) provides the following types of financial assistance to eligible Catholic priests:
1.1 Corporal Aid. MOM offers subsistence grants to help priests meet living, transportation, and healthcare expenses.
1.2 Spiritual Aid. MOM offers spiritual aid grants to help priests stabilize their spiritual welfare, to renew their priesthood in ways consistent with any limits imposed by appropriate authorities within the Catholic Church, and to grow in holiness.
1.3 Canonical Legal Aid. MOM offers grants to help priests defray the fees and expenses of hiring canonists for ecclesial proceedings when the bishop or superior refuses to do so.
Section 2. Eligibility
2.1 Men who have been validly ordained to the Catholic priesthood are eligible for financial assistance, including men who have been removed from the clerical state yet remain unmarried and commit to living a priestly life. All such men are “priests” for purposes of this policy.
2.2 Being eligible for financial assistance does not confer a right to receive financial assistance.
